Convention Dates for your Diary

Our Next Convention will be in Colchester, at the Minories and FirstSite Galleries, 19th to 21st April 2024. This time we will also be hosting the Convention for Creators for their first ever convention in the UK. More details coming soon.

Also in 2024 we will hold our Autumn Convention in Edinburgh (23 to 25 August 2024).

Conventions

Meeting other folders is a great experience, and one of the best places to do it is at a convention. During the Covid 19 Pandemic we held virtual conventions, but now we have restarted our 2 day residential weekend events. These conventions are heaven for folders everywhere! New members are made especially welcome, as are children and “non-folding” partners. Our experience of virtual events has allowed us to look at new ways to offer such events.

Mini-meetings

Inevitably, the folding appetites of many people are not satisfied entirely by two conventions a year, so the we also offer local meetings, called “mini-meetings”, generally once a month. These meetings are mostly informal with about a dozen people attending on average.

Folds are taught, stories exchanged and a good time is had by all. Or bring along any new (or old!) books you have found, any folds you are struggling with, any origami memorabilia and show them to other local members.

Details are shown in our members area, but meetings take place in Birmingham,  Brighton & Hove, Bristol, Bury St  Edmunds,  Gloucester, London, Manchester, the North East, Nottingham, Oxford, Scotland, Sheffield, Slough and Yor
