Watch this material fold itself

Are researchers at MIT trying to replace human origamists? Well not quite, but check out this video, where Eric Demaine explains how their programmable material works to fold, unfold and transform itself from a boat into a plane. They still have some way to go to beat a human being and a sheet of paper for beautiful models, but this technology could have many applications.
