Simple Model of the week – traditional butterfly

You can make any animal by folding paper, but there is something just right about folding a butterfly. Perhaps its their paper thin wings, bright colours and simple shape that makes butterflies ideal subjects.

There are countless origami butterfly designs but many folders start with this, traditional model. You can find diagrams here.

These look great individually or in large numbers to make a colourful, eye catching display, so are ideal if you have a class of beginners who want to make a large mural or decorate a window!
