Simple Model of the Week – Star Box

The Star Box is a traditional model with a moment of origami magic in the final step, when you transform a flat shape into a perfect three-dimensional form.

Diagrams are in the simple models section of the website here

This model is ideal for teaching to beginners when you are ready to introduce several fundamentals of origami to your students: making a preliminary base, easy squash folds and of course the opening out of the model to make the 3d box. It is especially effective with patterned paper and paper with a different colour on each side.
