Origami craze from Korea takes off thanks to Squid Game

The Netflix series Squid Game features ddakji, a traditional South Korean game played using folded paper tiles. The tiles are super easy to make – perhaps one of the easiest modular origami models you’ll find.

To play, first fold several tiles following the diagrams.

You play by simply throwing your tile on the floor; your opponent then throws their tile at yours and if they hit your tile and flip it over, they win.

It takes practice and a good aim to be an expert player.
