#Gomodular day 5 Electra by David Mitchell

Diagram for this model

A classic model that quite simply, everyone should fold. Where most modular origami concentrates on the surfaces of the shape, Electra allows us to see inside the geometry. Described by our secretary as “my all time favourite origami model” – how can you resist?

Electra looks great made from 5 different colours, or from a single colour or carefully chosen patterned paper.

Taking it further:

We love the geometry and the construction of this model, and David offers a number of variations. If you want more of David’s work, head over to his website Origamiheaven where he has more diagrams, and check out his excellent books “Paper Crystals” and “Building with Butterflies.”

A big thanks to David for letting us share his work.
