BOS helps in Ukraine

For much of this year, Joan Sallas and the Folding Didactics group have been organising online origami classes in the Ukraine with the help of Ukrainian teachers. He passed a request for paper to the BOS and we were delighted to help. With fingers crossed, we sent a parcel of paper to teacher Natali Fatieieva in Zaporizhia (the target of heavy bombing) and were delighted to receive a short “unpacking” video and a sincere message of thanks.

It may be a tiny effort in terms of the war, but it’s wonderful to know that origami is helping the children there.

Folding Didactics are organising a virtual conference “Folding For Ukraine” on 29th January 2023, with classes from Michael LaFosse, Paul Jackson and others. They ask for a minimum of 2 euros to attend and the money will help to organise a real conference in Freiburg during March, where we hope to have several Ukrainian teachers in attendance.
